Gillingham were still in the play-off pack, according to Justin Edinburgh, ahead of the Good Friday visit by Fleetwood but following this defeat you have to say that an unlikely event just became virtually impossible!

Fleetwood went away from Priestfield with the points after a one-nil win.

With Morris unable to keep hold of Ball’s cross Evans (18) was on hand to follow up and break the deadlock inside 20-minutes.

Evans gave ball another Ball soon after but he couldn’t take this with Morris atoning for a first half mistake though by denying Ball in the second half.

Norris was again given the nod to start up front by Edinburgh, having come in last Saturday when McDonald was rested, and he went as close as anyone to scoring for us but it didn’t happen.

Having extended our run to just one win in the last six-matches, and seen the gap to the last play-off place grow to nine-points, I think we can safely say that isn’t going to happen this season….

Will we react against Leyton Orient in our next game?
