Remember me? Former Gills skipper Chris Hope may have left the club for Rushden & Diamonds but he is still fondly remembered at Glanford Park, where he was a model of consistency before his £250,000 move to Kent in the summer of 2000. Guy Ipoua also moved to Priestfield from Scunthorpe, while ex-Gills striker Tommy Johnson was with the Iron last season.

Man to watch: Billy Sharp. After a superb season from the former Sheffield United striker, he has been linked with moves to the Championship this summer but the fact the Iron have kept hold of him is a real positive for them.

2006/07 prospects: Scunthorpe are my outside bet for the play-offs. Joe Murphy and Dave Mulligan are excellent signings and Roman Calliste will be when he recovers from his broken leg will be too. And in Billy Sharp and Andy Keogh they have two excellent young strikers who could help them to a very successful season.
