Gillingham look to get back to winning ways in league one this weekend when they travel to Carlisle.

The Gills suffered a midweek setback when a chance to lay down a strong marker for another season in league one missed with defeat but the face another struggler at Brunton Park on Saturday.

Due to his sending off in midweek, deliberately handballing to keep out a Stevenage goal, Elliott Hewitt is suspended and sits out a game.

Michael Harriman could return with Adam Barrett also hoping for a recall and Amine Linganzi (tendonitis) and Chris Whelpdale (ankle) could also return if fit enough.

As he’s continuing to recover Danny Kedwell (hernia) is out.

Peter Taylor is looking for his side to become more consistent and doing this will happen if “the right decisions” are made more often.

Ahead of the game Taylor told BBC Radio Kent: ‘The performances and the results are a bit inconsistent. I still believe we are making progress and there are reasons.

‘The supporters can see the players are doing everything they can. Overall the atmosphere is much, much better and I think they appreciate the performances.

‘We have got a lot of games left with teams around us but they might be under more pressure as they are the home team.

‘Once we get onto the pitch I hope we make the right decisions.’
