Gillingham have been dealt the blow with the news that Kortney Hause has been recalled from his loan spell at Priestfield.

The England U20 international has been a big success with us but due to some injury and potential suspension problems that his parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers have they’ve exercised their option to recall the defender.

Peter Taylor said: ‘Kortney has been brilliant for us and a great professional, but if it means he can go back to Wolves and get some games for them then we are delighted for him.’

Hause made 17 first-team appearances for us and scored in the two-two draw with Swindon Town in August.

Perhaps a return in January can be arranged? Credit needs to go to Wolves boss Kenny Jackett who felt that out of fairness to us he wanted to recall him now ahead of the loan window closing instead of next week as it at least gives Taylor the chance, if he wishes, to bring in someone else before the transfer deadline.

The emergency loan window closes at 5pm on Thursday.
