Gillingham had allowed a two-goal lead slip against Oldham at Priestfield on Saturday afternoon but we still did enough to eventually claim a much needed win, which means we’ve now won back-to-back home games for the first time in pushing on for 12-months!

When we were two-up inside 15-minutes it was looking wonderful, by the midway point of the first half though it was all level again but a second half winner saw us claim the three-points with a three-two win.

A quick fire double from Millwall loanee Marquis (7 & 14) had us in control but Oldham swiftly came back into the game when Kelly (20) struck, as he followed up Philliskirk’s penalty that Nelson had saved, with Poleon (23) capitalising on a Nelson error to completing the comeback three-minutes later.

Nelson made up for his error, and we also had McDonald to thank for clearing a Morgan-Smith effort off the line with the win was secured with 20-minutes remaining through when Dack (70) struck with the aide of a deflection to his volley.

These were the pre-game poll thoughts:-

Gillingham v Oldham
Gillingham win 50%
Draw 50%
Oldham win 0%
