Gillingham’s League 1 season continued with a win against Bury at Priestfield on Saturday.

A three-one win, with Gillingham coming back from an early setback when Bury were given the lead by Leon Clarke with Reading loanee Dominic Samuel marking his debut with a goal, John Egan putting the Gills ahead and Emmanuel Osadebe sealing the win with a fine solo goal late on, meant the League 1 lead was Gillingham’s again!

You can see more like this on GFCofficial.

The other results this weekend were as follows:-

Saturday 14th November
Rochdale 0-2 Wigan
Barnsley 1-2 Port Vale
Blackpool 0-2 Doncaster
Bradford 2-0 Crewe
Chesterfield 1-2 Oldham
Colchester 1-3 Coventry
Gillingham 3-1 Bury
Peterborough 2-1 Fleetwood
Sheff Utd 2-2 Southend
Swindon 2-1 Scunthorpe

Looking at these results the stand out ones have to be the wins for Oldham, Gillingham and Swindon.

Oldham, as we know, the ‘draw specialist’ in League 1 were on for another until a later goal saw them come from behind to win two-one at Chesterfield, which was a very good – and important – result for the Latics and a blow the Spireites hopes of pushing closer to a top six place.

I’m not sure you can call the Gillingham win over Bury ‘a stand out’ one as such, as both are going alone well enough in League 1, but this three-one win for the Gills at Priestfield was enough to take them back to the summit!

Swindon have gone from promotion candidates last season, missing out on the Championship in the play-off final, to strugglers this term with relegation into League 2 possible at this stage but the Robins secured a two-one win against an in-form Scunthorpe side at the County Ground.

Gillingham are back in action on Saturday at promotion rivals Coventry.
