Aaron Morris has played for Wales at U21 level but as yet hasn’t managed the step up into senior level, but has ambitions of making this the case next season!

It goes without saying that Morris, back to fitness after some injury issues over the latter part of this season, would have to put on some performance next season but he’s told Kent Online that this a carrot dangling in front of him that he wants to take.

The prospect of getting into the Wales squad that could quite possibly be taking part in Euro 2016 next summer, with him potentially rubbing shoulders with Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale and Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey in midfield would be a dream come true for the 25-year-old.

Morris does know though that Wales are now selecting players mainly from the Premier League and the Championship but does know that the door is ajar as some from League 1 are playing a part.

‘The majority of the players they take now are from the Premier League and the Championship but there are a couple from League 1 who get
pulled in.

‘If I did ever get the chance, I’d take it with both hands. It’s a nice carrot to try to get hold of and should push me on to do better.’

His previous involvement came under Brian Flynn at U21 level with him hopeful that he could still be someone that carries some sway with the Welsh FA! All he can do, and he knows it, is keep playing regularly and playing well as if he does that the rest could take care of itself.

Although he does concede that it’ll take something special to now break into that set up….

‘The guy who was quite fond of me, Brian Flynn, isn’t part of the set-up any more so I’m not sure if he can still rub shoulders with a couple of people who are involved. If I carry on playing and the team’s doing well, hopefully I can improve.

‘It would be fantastic if I could get in and around that squad but they’ve got a lot of good players now. They’re playing amazingly well, so I’m not going to hold my breath.’
