Gillingham are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by goalkeeper Tomas Holy in the one nil victory over Charlton Athletic at the weekend at Priestfield was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Holy was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Gillingham finally registered their first win of the campaign, earning an impressive 1-0 win over Charlton Athletic. The Gills had their goalkeeper to thank, keeping out all of the Addicks` 11 shots on target as they held on for three points at the eighth time of asking.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Holy for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Tomas Holy (Gillingham), Matt Kilgallon (Bradford City), David Mirfin (Mansfield Town), Christoph Zimmermann (Norwich City), Albert Adomah (Aston Villa), Kevin Dawson (Cheltenham Town), Jed Wallace (Millwall), Jake Taylor (Exeter City), Gboly Ariyibi (MK Dons), Luke Norris (Swindon Town), Jamal Lowe (Portsmouth).

Manager – Lee Johnson (Bristol City).
