Gillingham were looking at another defeat on Saturday afternoon until an unlikely source, who caused further problems, made sure we got a 1-1 draw against Crawley Town.

After going a goal down, and riding our luck, a last minute goal at the end of the first half made sure that we got a point at Priestfield, but we remain without a league win since mid-September after that impressive win over Peterborough United.

Crawley were ahead before the half hour mark when Gwion Edwards (29) converted beyond ‘keeper Stuart Nelson, with the lead almost doubled soon after but thankfully Matt Harrold’s effort came back off the post!

A rare Leon Legge (44) goal just before half time brought Gillingham level. His powerful header from a Jake Hessenthaler corner made it one-one at the break.

Legge almost scored a replica shortly after the break with Bradley Dack coming off the bench to hit the bar from 20-yards.

Dean Leacock got in an important block to again thwart Legge, with Crawley denied a winner of their own by Nelson who saved from Joe Walsh and Josh Simpson.
