Gillingham suffered another setback as our disappointing form of last saw Preston North End the latest side to go away from Priestfield with the points.

A second half goal proved the difference, but Preston could have scored plenty more, in the visitors 1-0 win on Tuesday night.

Joe Garner had already beaten Stuart Nelson with a header but been denied by the crossbar when Paul Huntington then headed Preston into the lead

The woodwork also denied Jack King and Callum Robinson; both saw efforts strike the post with the frame of the goal denying Preston for an incredible fourth time as Paul Gallagher struck the crossbar late on.

We had chances too though with Brennan Dickenson’s 20-yard drive coming back off the crossbar.

Preston ‘keeper Jamie Jones also saved to keep our both Danny Kedwell and Cody McDonald with Gallagher needing to clear John Egan’s header off the line to deny us a point.
