Can we still make the play-offs? Even saying this in light of how the majority of the first half of the season went strange! But yes would have to be the answer after we managed to battle back to earn a point against Gillingham.

Of course if we could have won at Priestfield, and not drawn one-one, our chances would have improved but we’ll take this!

Not long after coming off the bench Forrester (40), aided by the wind, beat Nelson to put Doncaster ahead and looked as though this would sent them into the half time break ahead.

Marquis (44) headed home Loft’s freekick, for his seventh goals in 10-matches, to make it one-one a minute before the break.

Nelson saved well to deny Forrester in the second half to make sure that we got the point at least that we deserved with Justin Edinburgh telling BBC as much.

He also thought that the weather, and a difficult pitch, played a part.

‘Both teams were trying to play football, but as you can see when people were trying to pass it or run with it, it became a very difficult pitch to play on.

‘It hurt last week to lose the game, but today more grit and determination to make sure that didn’t happen again to us.

‘I think the weather played it’s part there, it caught Nelson out slightly – wind assisted, it picked up pace and flew into the back of the net.’
