Gillingham look for a reaction to the defeat against Wigan last time round when the Gills head to Doncaster tomorrow.

At two-up against Wigan with around an hour played Gillingham looked certain to win but a Latics fightback of course saw them score a winner deep into injury-time as they secured a three-two win in the end to dent the promotion bid.

Edinburgh told the Official Website he’s looked back at that game and is still disappointed by the defeat but knows Gillingham have to look forward and not back.

‘It was a tough one to take but I’ve looked at the game on numerous occasions and if anything I think we looked too comfortable and perhaps lapsed a bit of concentration on a couple of the goals. That’s only the second time this season we have taken the lead and not gone on to take points so it’s not a bad ratio but to come off and lose in the manner we did was a real blow. We can’t look back, we can only look forward and we can only get better.’

He went onto talk about a need for consistency, as has already been the case, to be shown over the second half of the season, which if this is the case can keep the promotion bid on track.

Looking ahead to the game at the Keepmoat Stadium against Doncaster the boss finished by saying he’s aware it’ll be a difficult game against a ‘very good side’ but the Gillingham confidence is still high with a ‘real desire and hunger’ to get a result something the side have.

‘They are an improving side, Darren has gone in there and started to implement his own ideas but anyone playing us will know that we are a very good side and full of confidence. We’ve recently had four successive wins; the overall performance at Wigan was as good as you will see. We have a real desire and hunger to get a good result.’
