Callum Davies is very much the future at Gillingham, although for the immediate future he will be turning out for Dover Athletic after joining them on loan.

The emergency loan window deadline on Thursday saw the defender complete a return to Dover for another loan spell at the Crabble having featured for them in a similar capacity last season.

Davies was injured in a recent game against Scunthorpe United so he’s returning to full fitness, this will be aided by some regular first-team minutes with the Conference Premier outfit, where he spent a spell last season as well enjoying a 10 game spell towards the end of the season that helped them to promotion from the Conference South.

At 21 Davies still has plenty of time ahead of him and would be expected to return in the New Year and compete for a first-team spot again at Priestfield. His loan was agreed until January 4th.
