Gillingham had the chance to return to the top of the League Two table on Tuesday night, however they were unable to beat York so had to settle for a point and stay in second.

York had the better of the first half chances with Michael Rankine denied twice, once by a goal line clearance whereas Gillingham’s Deon Burton was waiting for the ball to be cut back for him to slot home but Cody McDonald went for goal himself.

McDonald also headed wide, when he should have done better and given his goalscoring form you would have thought he would have with the crossbar denying Charlie Lee late on with the game ending in a 0-0 draw.
