Gillingham welcomed Walsall to the Priestfield Stadium for last night’s League One match and promotion and Play Off hopes took a hit with a two one defeat to the Bescot outfit.

Sitting in sixth place in the table following the result, Gillingham are now only three points ahead of seventh place Barnsley in the play off battle but many will be wondering if hopes of a race to the automatic spots with the defeat are now over as the gap to Burton stands at eight points.

Speaking to the media in his post game press interviews after the game, a disappointed Justin Edinburgh explained.
